August 5, 2021 — Northern Kentucky University ranks as the most affordable college with the best outcomes in the Commonwealth, according to a new report by 24/7 Wall St.
The financial news and opinion company reviewed a range of data from the U.S. Department of Education to identify the most affordable colleges with the best outcomes in every state. 24/7 Wall St. evaluated nearly 7,000 institutions’ tuition costs, graduate employment rates, student debt repayment and median salary after enrollment to identify the nation’s most affordable colleges with the best outcomes, with NKU leading in the Commonwealth.
“While the growing student debt crisis is contributing to annual declines in college enrollment — as do the effects of the pandemic — a four-year college education does not have to mean a lifetime of paying off student loans,” stated 24/7 Wall St. in its review. “Across the country, there are schools with relatively low tuition costs, where graduates typically go on to secure well-paying jobs upon graduation.”
NKU’s strategic framework, Success by Design, challenges the campus community to become a more student-ready, regionally engaged institution. The framework outlines three pillars of student success: Access, Completion and Career & Community Engagement.
The 24/7 Wall St. report underscores NKU’s commitment to student success. The university continues investing in high-impact initiatives that address affordability, including an undergraduate tuition freeze for the 2020-21 academic year and the EDGE program that makes education more accessible for out-of-state learners. NKU also made significant changes to its admissions and student support process by eliminating standardized test scores, such as the ACT and SAT.
