Ivy Tech students will work with their advisor to select a pathway. They will obtain dual admission to NKU by completing an application for the pathway program. IvyTech2NKU participants will have access to NKU advisors to assist in the seamless transfer to NKU. Once it is time to transfer, students will apply to NKU and complete the transfer process.
Students enrolled in this program are eligible to take up to four courses of pre-major and major coursework at NKU while pursuing an associate degree at Ivy Tech. IvyTech2NKU students pay the Ivy Tech tuition rate to NKU for the allotted four NKU courses. Students taking classes at NKU through the program will also pay part-time student fees per credit hour. Some courses may also incur specific charges from the respective college. Students pay for their Ivy Tech and NKU bills separately.
The four courses must be spread out over the span of several semesters. The number of courses a student is able to take at NKU in a given semester is based on earned and in-progress hours. Students with 15 earned and in-progress hours are eligible to take their first course at NKU. Once students have at least 30 earned and in-progress hours, they are eligible to take a second course at NKU. After 45 earned and in-progress hours, students can take their last two courses. If a student has 45 or more earned and in progress hours but have yet to take any classes at NKU through the IvyTech2NKU program, he or she would be eligible to take two courses in the first semester of the program.
Students must never exceed the maximum of two courses at NKU in any given semester through the IvyTech2NKU program. Students enrolled in the IvyTech2NKU program are eligible to take courses at NKU that are not offered at Ivy Tech. While enrolled in NKU courses through the program, students are not eligible to take courses at NKU above and beyond the IvyTech2NKU program courses.
The pathway guides are advising tools designed to help community college students plan for transferring to NKU to complete their baccalaureate degree. The pathway guides also constitute an agreement between community colleges and universities confirming that community college courses meet major preparation requirements.

The IvyTech2NKU Program has a simple application. Please read the instructions on applying first. If you are not yet enrolled at Ivy Tech, apply for admission to Ivy Tech and enroll in an Associate degree plan.
Once you are admitted to Ivy Tech, just fill out the IvyTech2NKU application. Note: You will need to maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout the program.
When the time comes for you to transfer to NKU from Ivy Tech, there are a few steps that need to be completed. Please use this checklist to ensure all steps are completed in order to facilitate a smooth transfer.
