The Center for Public History has served as a hub for fostering civic engagement and community outreach in collaboration with faculty, students, and external partners of Northern Kentucky University's Department of History & Geography. The Center facilitated projects that gathered historical information, preserved cultural artifacts, and created public exhibits, offering students hands-on opportunities to engage with the field of public history.
Currently, the Center for Public History is no longer active. Oversight of public history initiatives, collaborations, and opportunities at NKU now falls under the direction of Professor Kevin Eagles, Director of the Master of Arts in Public History (MAPH) program. Professor Eagles serves as the primary point of contact for all matters related to public history at the university, ensuring continued excellence in historical scholarship and community partnerships.
